David Wannstedt (born May 21, ) is a former American football coach. He has been the head coach of the Chicago Bears and Miami Dolphins of the National Football League (NFL).

Early life
Wannstedt was born in Baldwin, Pennsylvania and attended Baldwin High School. He earned an athletic scholarship to the University of Pittsburgh playing offensive tackle and blocking for future Heisman Trophy winner Tony Dorsett.
After a successful career with the Panthers, he was chosen in the fifteenth round of the NFL draft by the Green Bay Packers, but spent his only NFL season on the injured
