          John Bayard Anderson (February 15, 1922 – December 3, 2017) was an American-Republican politician from Illinois.

          He was a politician from the 1960s until the later 2000s. He ran for president in 1980,[1] but lost to Ronald Reagan as the main Republican candidate. He then ran as an independent candidate,[2] and lost again to Reagan in November, 1980.[3]
